kota kalong
April 10, 2009 we went to the down town 150 km from Makassar city South Sulawesi Indonesia. It is small town, almost people called it “city kalong” or “bat city” because commonly we found many bat life in the center of the city. Thousands bats with black color were hang in the tree and make noisy city. That is make Soppeng district well known as bat city.
I was born in this city about 40 years ago, and it always brought nice memory for myself. Now days my family very like spend their time for week end in this city. Beside well known as bat city, Soppeng also popular as sources of rice in South Sulawesi. Thousands tons rice each year from this city were distributed to other province and for export to abroad. Furthermore, This city popular with mountains and fresh water in every where, the most popular is Pool Lejja. It is hot water for swimming pool, every week many people came to this site with family.
